The beginning of Ukrainian statehood can be traced back to Kievan Rus‘, which formed in the 9th century. At the end of World War I, Ukrainians, like other nations of Central and Eastern Europe, tried to restore their statehood.

This exhibition presents some of the awards of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and other Ukrainian state compounds (1917–1921).
