Museum Fair at Vilnius Railway Station


The team of the Events Department of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania Museum invited you to try out the ruler's throne, get acquainted with the life of the rulers, take part in quizzes and find out interesting facts about the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the Vilnius Railway Station on the 2nd of February! City residents and visitors, passers-by waiting for the train or just dropping by to meet their relatives, could get to know the activities of the nine Vilnius museums.

The Polish Institute in Vilnius and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania have presented a new Polish language audioguide.


From the 24th of January of 2024, a Polish language audioguide will be available when visiting the exhibitions of Route III, and Lirija Steponavičienė, the head of the Museum's Department of Education and the project manager, says that in the coming years, audioguides in both Ukrainian and Polish will also be prepared for the permanent exhibitions of Routes I and II.

International Educational Festival of St Cecilia Early Music 2023


On the 25th of November 2023, the thirteenth International Educational Festival of St Cecilia's Early Music at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania came to an end. The festival closed with two events: the first international conference on early music education in Lithuania and the closing concert of the St Cecilia Festival, featuring the early music ensemble Acacia (Lithuania, Czech Republic, Switzerland) and the participants of the masterclasses in Renaissance and Baroque music.

The Nobility Gift to Vilnius is presented at the Palace of the Grand Dukes


On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, the Royal Union of Lithuanian Nobility presented the Palace of the Grand Dukes Museum with a sculpture of Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania, created by Prof. Konstantinas Bogdanas. The sculpture, cast in bronze by sculptor Rimantas Keturka, was presented in a symbolic place of the Museum - the tower of Gediminas Castle, which was uncovered by archaeologists and is now on display to visitors.

St Cecilia Festival moments


The last week of October marked the end of the first part of the international educational project St. Cecilian Early Music Festival, where for two months the youngest participants of the festival learned the secrets of early music - they got to know the old musical instruments, wrote with goose feathers, improvised a Baroque opera, and got acquainted with the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

The international early music ensemble Canto Fiorito took the audience on a musical journey - from Rome to Vilnius, from Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and his students to Marco Scacchi, the creator of the first opera to be produced in Vilnius.
