August weekends spent in the garden of the ruler Bona Sforza


The Palace Museum invited everyone to spend August weekends in the garden of the ruler Bona Sforza - an environment of summer blossoms, a trickling fountain and art. From the 3rd of August, museum's educator and professional artist Gretė Ginaitytė led educational classes for adults and families with young children. Here are some moments from the workshops.

Cinema Under the Stars 2023


From the 31st of July to the 1st of August, the "Kinas po žvaigždėmis" festival returned to the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and offered open-air film collecting.  Viewers could add to their personal film shelves with never-tiring classics such as Fight Club, Boni and Clyde and others.

The magic of "LNOBT OPEN" in the Grand Courtyard of the Grand Palace of Dukes!


The LNOBT Open Festival, which has already become a tradition, came to an end with the premiere of the Italian production of "The Creation of the World", concert performances of the operas "Village Honour" and "Lithuanians", and the Ballet Gala Concert with renowned Lithuanian and foreign dancers. Elegant, gently filled with the rhythms of classical music and the coolness of the evening - such was the festival of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre "LNOBT Open", which on 27 June - 6 July swapped its stage for the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

the State Day 2023 - 770th anniversary of the coronation of King Mindaugas


Moments from the State Day at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius. On 6th of July, the Museum's gifts were spread all over the Old Town of Vilnius: The Arc de Triumph, the famous Arc de Triumph parade, a festive concert on the Cathedral Square, singing of the National Anthem by Lithuanians from all over the world, and Amilcare Ponchiello's opera "Lithuanians", which has become a tradition with the participation of the National Opera of Ukraine.

Lithuanian and Polish leaders visit the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania


It is no coincidence that a state dinner in honour of Poland's First Couple is being held at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, when the honoured guests are in Vilnius on an official visit. President Gitanas Nausėda and President Andrzej Duda are the patrons of the exhibition of the legendary tapestries of Sigismund Augustus in Vilnius.

Raimonds Paknis' photography exhibition "The Vestiges of Time: Walls and Colours" opening moments


The exhibition that opened at the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, The Vestiges of Time: Walls and Colours, is on display over two levels at the Exhibition Centre. Visitors will be able to see photographs that Raimondas Paknys took over the course of around ten years. Between 2006 and 2021, he has made a number of expeditions into Ukraine, Belarus and around Lithuania, several times each year. Up until Russia’s wide-scale invasion into Ukraine, his photographs could encourage viewers to seek out those monuments or their ruins that had most captivated them and see them in situ, in real life. Today, this is impossible – they are hardly accessible, some have even been destroyed.
