M. K. Sarbievijus – the "Christian Horace," whose life became a bridge between Masuria and Vilnius. We share memories from the performance of the ensemble "Šviesotamsa," in which 17th-century poetry was revived surrounded by authentic instruments of that period.
 
The ensemble "Šviesotamsa" (Italian for "chiaroscuro") was formed in 2014 by Rūta Vosyliūtė, Ieva Baublytė, and Vilimas Norkūnas, who completed specialized studies in early music in Western European countries (Italy, Switzerland, and Austria).

In December, the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania was filled with children's laughter as the Education Department presented a new educational puzzle, "SOSTAS IR SOSTINĖ. Big and Small Stories of Vilnius." During this theatrical educational event, visitors were invited to immerse themselves in a time when the fate of the state was decided in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, distinguished guests were entertained, music played, feasts and festivities took place, and the city was filled with celebration. Together with the revived characters of old Vilnius, the layers of the capital's history were revealed, and the visitors themselves became characters in these stories.

This year, the international educational St. Cecilia Early Music Festival celebrated a special anniversary—its fifteenth birthday—and invited all of its friends to a musical celebration at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. This year's festival program included the now traditional St. Cecilia Music Studio for the youngest participants and an educational concert, "Angel Songs for St. Cecilia," for the youngest participants.

On November 19, 2025, a two-volume catalog dedicated to Dr. P. Kiznis' collection was presented "Pranas Kiznis Art Collection. From Italian Gothic to Lithuanian Modernism." Over several decades, renowned Lithuanian industrialist, collector, and patron Dr. Pranas Kiznis amassed an impressive and extensive collection of artworks. Starting with 20th-century Lithuanian modern art, the patron later acquired works by foreign artists, and in recent years, ninety paintings by Italian and other famous European artists from the 14th to 18th centuries. A large part of the collection is on display at the Dr. P. Kiznis Picture Gallery at the National Museum in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Lithuania and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania Museum presented elements of flamenco – dance, music, and costume traditions – at a cultural evening entitled "Flamenco as a Symbol of Spanish Cultural Identity."
The cultural evening featured performances by renowned Spanish flutist and composer O'scar de Manuel, Adrián Benítez (vocals), Juan de Pilar (flamenco guitar), and Lolo Planton (percussion).
 
The colorful dance costumes and characteristic accessories were presented by Pedro González, artistic director of the International Flamenco Fashion Week (SIMOF) and president of the Qlamenko Association. The members of this organization are the leading creators of Spanish flamenco fashion.

October saw the closing of the 35th Banchetto Musicale early music festival. Four festival events took place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, bringing together the most renowned early music performers from different European countries:
  • "The World of Arcangelo Corelli: Sonatas for Viola da Gamba and Basso Continuo" – Teodoro Baù (viola da gamba, Italy, Switzerland) and Andrea Buccarella (harpsichord, Italy, Switzerland);
  • Baltic Stage: Cuori e ponti – When Hearts Meet, Bridges Are Built – Rūta Vox (vocals, Lithuania) and Francesco Addabbo (harpsichord, Italy);
  • Ars Trobar Italica: The Legacy of Troubadours in Medieval Italy – ensemble Le Miroir de Musique (Switzerland): Miriam Trevisan (soprano), Jacob Lawrence (tenor, voice), Baptiste Romain (conductor, voice, bagpipes);
  • Alla Napoletana: Soundscapes of Colorful Naples – ensemble L’Arpeggiata (European early music ensemble), Christina Pluhar (conductor, theorbo), Vincenzo Capezzuto (viola), Anna Dego (dance).

A portrait of Lithuanian Chancellor and Voivode of Vilnius Mikalojus Radvila came to the exhibition at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania from the private collection of Maciej Radziwiłł, a collector and active promoter of cooperation between Lithuania, Poland, and other neighboring countries.

A portrait of the Lithuanian Chancellor and Voivode of Vilnius Mikalojus Radvilaitis from the collection of Prince Maciej Radziwiłł will be on display in the Dutch Cabinet of the Palace of the Grand Dukes until the March 22nd, 2026.

The international exhibition “Old Lithuania in the Watercolours of Napoleon Orda” has opened at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Napoleon Orda (1807–1883) was one of the most versatile 19th-century Lithuanian artists and public figures. The most valuable and abundant part of N. Orda's artistic legacy – drawings and watercolors – is presented in this exhibition organized by the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and the National Museum in Krakow.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the international early music festival Banchetto Musicale kicked off its festive program with a subtle journey to the heart of 18th-century Italy – the eternal city of Rome.
 
Arcangelo Corelli, a virtuoso violinist who had been living there for 20 years, published his 12 sonatas for violin and harpsichord (Sonate a violino e violone o cimbalo) at the turn of the century in 1700, ushering in a new era and setting an example of stylistic perfection. Many composers, starting with his own students, began to follow his style, which today can be described as pure and Apollonian (a restrained, harmonious, and structured art form).
