Director General of the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania Dr Vydas Dolinskas Biography Dr Vydas Dolinskas studied at the universities of Vilnius, Salzburg (Austria), and Berlin (Germany) and completed an internship at the Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow (Poland). In 2001, he obtained a PhD in humanities from Vilnius University for the doctoral thesis "Simonas Kosakovskis / Szymon Kossakowski: Political and Military Activities in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1763 to 1794". Dr Vydas Dolinskas worked at the Lithuanian Institute of History (1993–1997) and the Lithuanian National Museum of Art (1998–2008). He has been teaching at the Faculty of History of Vilnius University since 1996, and since 2017, he holds the position of associate professor. Since 2009, Dr Vydas Dolinskas works as the director of the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (since 2023, the Director General). As a renowned scientist, Dr Vydas Dolinskas is a member of numerous commissions, cultural and scientific councils, and editorial boards of scientific publications in Lithuanian and foreign states. He has published over 400 scientific and science popularisation publications, as well as he translated from Polish, German, and Russian, and has authored over 40 exhibition catalogues and other publications. Dr Vydas Dolinskas has presented over 30 papers at scientific conferences in Lithuania and abroad. As a curator, coordinator, and author of exhibition concepts and plans, the Director General has organised or participated in over 50 international and national exhibitions.
