Vytautas Urbanavičius is a well-known Lithuanian archaeologist and anthropologist, researcher of 13th-16th century cemeteries and the dungeons of the Vilnius Cathedral, head of the research of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of the Lower Castle in Vilnius, and the pioneer of plastic facial reconstruction in Lithuania. He was one of the first to collect palaeoanthropological material, to reconstruct portraits of many historical personalities (Barbora Radvilaitė, Kristijonas Donelaitis, Pilypas Ruigis, and others), to identify the remains of the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Albert Goštautas, and the remains of the Bishop of Vilnius, Abraham Vaina, in the Vilnius Cathedral.
This publication has attempted to bring together the facts of the Cathedral's research to date, focusing on the graves, their location and the research into the graves.
The book is published in Lithuanian. A summary is also published in English and Polish.
