The catalog for the exhibition “ Heritage Coming Home. Paintings acquired in 2018–2025” presents the expansion of the National Museum of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania’s collection of fine arts in recent years. The works donated to the museum by patrons and those acquired by the museum itself feature historical and religious themes and are rich in portraits of the rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, their relatives, and the nobility of the state. Such paintings are particularly important for preserving the memory of the ancient Lithuanian state; moreover, they are extremely difficult to find on the art market. Readers of the catalog are invited to explore the museum’s 25 newly acquired paintings.
