This production of a comic opera is a flirtation with opera seria and intermezzo genres by young creators - the first generation of baroque opera alumni of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. The axis of the evening is Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s opera “Livietta e Tracollo”, which is rarely performed in Lithuania. It tells the love story of the vital adventurer Tracollo and the cunning beauty Livietta. Only this time, in contrast to 18th century tradition, the short comic performance will not become a break from a long opera, but excerpts from a serious opera will frame the intermezzo.

The masterful composers of the Baroque era left unfathomable layers of musical heritage. The task of today’s performers is to recreate the Baroque opera, but at the same time inevitably create it anew. Even while striving to continue traditions, new forms of performance are born in the hands of modern performers, and the currently relevant methods of expression are established - only the intelligent relationship with the available material does not change. The set of stage solutions allows us to feel the unchanging axis where rhetoric, the universality of musical language and the quality of performance come together.

Entrance is free of charge. Registration is necessary.
