The name of the Swedish historian Sven Erik EKDAHL (b. 1935), now living and working in Germany, has been synonymous with the 1410 Battle Grunwald for many decades. Today, the scientist, who is considered the most famous specialist on the Battle of Tannenberg (Grunwald) in the world, is well known in Lithuania as well.
This publication is a synthesis of Prof. Sven Erik EKDAHL’s early written source research, supplemented with data from research conducted in recent years collected on site at the Grunwald battle field. There is no doubt that the mentioned research with metal detectors and ground-penetrating radar, as well as investigative archaeological excavation work confirmed the scientist’s hypotheses raised earlier about the formations the armies were standing in before the Battle of Grunwald, the precise location of the main battle and other sites where clashes took place, as well as the subtleties that unfolded during the course of the battle.
The book is published in four languages – Lithuanian, English, German and Polish.
