Liuda Skripkienė, Senior Editor at the Exhibition and Publishing Department of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, was named Museum Person of the Year. The Museum community traditionally awards the most outstanding employee of the past year. This was the eleventh time that the award was presented. L. Skripkienė was recognized for her professionalism, careful and responsible approach to text, and meaningful contribution to the museum's publishing and exhibition projects. The editor's work was recognized for her ability to look not only at the language of the text, but also at its content – sensitively and deeply, working with the authors to find the best solution, regardless of the length or scientific value of the text. This consistent and meticulous work confidently strengthens the culture of the Museum's publications and exhibitions.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania has honored individuals who have distinguished themselves in the fields of culture and art. Bernadeta Rudytė, a restorer at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, was awarded a prize for her work in restoring museum artifacts.
 
B. Rudytė, a restorer at the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, was awarded for her outstanding achievements in the conservation of wooden artefacts, her significant achievements in restoring an 18th-century tapestry, and her active work in researching the museum's collections.

For the third year running, the Education Department of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and the Kaunas Education Innovation Center invited Lithuanian 9th and 10th grade students to engage in an exciting battle of wits.
 
This year, the national competition "Journey Through Time: The Past Belongs to the Future" invited students and their teachers from Kaunas, Vilnius, Šiauliai, Birštonas, and Prienai to learn about the Baroque era and its most prominent figures.

This week we bid farewell to two international exhibitions: “Pidhirtsi Castle. History And Art Collections” and “Szymon Czechowicz. A Baroque Master at Pidhirtsi”
 
The international exhibition “Pidhirtsi Castle. History And Art Collections” presents a European diamond of Ukrainian heritage. It is a geographically distant, yet highly significant cultural site for Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania – the Pidhirtsi residence and the treasures of its historical collections.
 
Meanwhile, the exhibition “Szymon Czechowicz. A Baroque Master at Pidhirtsi” showcases the works of the most renowned painter of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Szymon Czechowicz (1689–1775), which once belonged to the Pidhirtsi residence art collections and adorned its representative and residential palace spaces.

Ukrainian museum professionals from four institutions are visiting Lithuania: the Lviv National Art Gallery named after Borys Voznytskyi, the Lviv History Museum, the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, and the Kamianets-Podilskyi State Historical Museum-Reserve. The Ukrainians are participating in training sessions aimed at developing professional competences, organized by the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
