Midsummer Vilnius 2023

The unique city festival ”Midsummer Vilnius”, which brings the central Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes to life every year in midsummer, has already established itself in the cultural life of the capital and has become an integral part of the summer city.
Since 2016, the festival has been growing not only in size but with surprising new creative solutions also.

Museum’s working hours during the holidays


Dear visitors, we would like to remind you that the Museum on Christmas Eve and St. Christmas Day (24-26th of december) will be closed. On New Year's Eve, 31st of december, the opening hours of the Museum will be from 10.00 to 16.00.

The Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility gift a sculpture of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas


To commemorate the occasion of Vilnius’ 700th anniversary, the Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility gifted to the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania a sculpture created by Prof. Konstantinas Bogdanas of Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas. The sculpture, cast in bronze by sculptor Rimantas Keturka, was unveiled on a symbolic site at the museum – the Gediminas’ castle tower, unearthed by archeaologists and now exhibited to visitors.
