The lecture discussed the structure and appearance of the kitchens of Lithuania's highest social class – the nobility – in the context of modernization processes from the mid-16th century to the early 20th century. Using historical publications, manor inventories, designs, and surviving objects, as well as applied research, the aim was to take a fresh look at the structural features of the homes of Lithuanian nobles and large landowners, their manifestations and processes of modernization in the context of the development of home planning and furnishing in Western Europe.
