The European Early Music Day was proposed to the Council of Europe by the REMA organization of early music festivals, which unites dozens of well-known events in various European countries and from 2019 - the Marco Scacchi Early Music Festival in Vilnius held at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. The museum first joined the European Early Music Day initiative in 2014. Since then, every year the Saturday closest to March 21st has been dedicated to learning and promoting early music.
The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania invites families with children to celebrate Early Music Day with educational musical activities in the museum.

Educational activity “In the Kingdom of Early Musical Instruments”

The activity is intended for families with children aged 5-10 years
During the celebration of Early Music Day, we invite families and children to take a walk through the restored halls of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and find out what musical instruments were played in the Palace and what music our rulers listened to. At the end of the educational activity, a surprise awaits the participants - the cartoon “The Path of Early Music”.

Duration of the educational activity - 1 hour. 
Participants will be welcomed in the visitor lobby of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania Museum.
Prices for educational activities (no other fees)
Adult ticket - 4,00 €
Ticket for a child aged 3-7 years - 1,00 €
Ticket for student, senior - 2,00 €
Small family (1 adult + children under 18) ticket - 5,00 €
Large family (2 adults + children under 18) ticket - 9,00 €

Early Music Corner

Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania visitor lobby
For families with children aged 4-7 years (free)
To celebrate early music day, we invite the youngest visitors of the museum to visit the Old Music Corner located in the visitor lobby. You will find drawings with old musical instruments and will be able to colour the ones you like the most. The history of these instruments and some of their sounds will be revealed in the animated film “The Road of Early Music” and during the educational concert “Musical Story about Barbora Radvilaitė”.
