During the Baroque period, it was common for Jesuits to pack musical instruments in their luggage when embarking on missions to South America (music was and still is one of the best means of communication). Likewise, the music of Josef Ignác Brentner, who had ties to the Jesuits, came from Prague to South America.

There were other prominent composers who, with their musical prowess, interest and respect for local traditional instruments and language, won the hearts of many local indigenous musicians during their missions: Italian Domenico Zipoli and Swiss Martin Schmid.

The exclusive concert programme consists of local, ceremonial or traditional compositions from Bolivia and Peru in Quechua and Guarani languages.

Tickets - 10, 15, 20 Eur (service charges apply)
Discounts for students, seniors and people with disabilities apply.
Please do not bring preschool children to the concert. We invite families with preschool children to educational activities at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
