Saulius Petreikis is one of the most expressive Lithuanian artists, whose concerts amaze audiences for his ability to contain both vital primary states of being and the splendid creativity of the soul. The performer's duality is revealed through various instruments and his constant searching, both in lively daytime activities, and amid the mystical pondering of the night hours. Along this path of transformation we encounter a sorrowful duduk, a spritely bansuri flute, the interesting Chinese hulusi flute, the sincere lamzdelis and the toe-tapping Irish flute. All the instruments the performer has discovered are simply the branches of a grand tree, whose roots are firmly embedded among all the nations of the world, which is why music can truly spread unity. Sometimes this is experimental, sometimes it takes the shape of a sustainable structure, as the performer creates music ranging from archaic folk to modern world music, also incorporating expressive jazz elements. This performer's concert is always akin to a journey up the branches of the mythical tree of the world, your guide – Saulius Petreikis – sincere, expressive and always surprising.
"The Palace of the Grand Dukes is an exceptional place, and I've wanted to hold a concert there for a long time", says Saulius Petreikis ahead of his forthcoming performance. "For such a special occasion, we'll be playing with a string quartet. Rimvydas Mitkus will be joining us as well - he'll be playing a Renaissance positive organ. Our aim will be to transport everyone to a palace of time. We'll be telling those who have come along musical stories from the ages that relate to our land, friendship and a love for life".
