An outdoor exhibition “From Kraków, Vilnius and Warsaw – to Białowieża. Travels and Hunts of the Kings of Poland and the Grand Dukes of Lithuania” has been opened in the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes. The exhibition is dedicated to presenting the importance of the hunting phenomenon in the life of the ruler and the research on the Białowieża hunting estate.

Hunting occupied a significant place in the lives of the Kings of Poland, the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, and the nobility – it was not only entertainment or a form of leisure. It also had important practical and symbolic significance.

On this occasion, short lectures were delivered in the Events Hall of the Palace of the Grand Dukes Museum by the authors of the exhibition, Prof. habil. Dr. Bogumiła Jędrzejewska (Polish Academy of Sciences, Mammal Research Institute, Białowieża) and Dr. Joanna Wawrzeniuk (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, Institute of Archaeology, Warsaw).

The exhibition will be open until September 25.
