On April 24, the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania opened its doors to the Lithuanian public and guests of the capital city Vilnius for the international exhibition “The Pidhirtsi Palace: History and Art Collections.”

The exhibition presents nearly one hundred valuable artworks and other relics. Alongside numerous portraits, battle scenes, and religious paintings by renowned European artists as well as artists connected to Lithuania, the display also includes decorative art objects: salon furniture, mirrors, candlesticks, and militaria such as hussar armor and halberds. In this way, the exhibition reveals both the principles and the contents of collections accumulated in an aristocratic residence during the 18th–19th centuries.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until September 28 of this year.
