Vilnius’ Day at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania 2025

To celebrate Vilnius' 702nd birthday, the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania invited visitors to a vibrant program. Young visitors and their parents took part in the educational workshop The Columns of Gediminas. History enthusiasts enjoyed a lecture by historian Prof. Libertas Klimka on clockmakers and their creations in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The day concluded with the presentation of the first volume of The Chronicle of Poland, Lithuania, Samogitia, and All of Rus’ by Maciej Stryjkowski (translated and prepared by Eglė Patiejūnienė and Kęstutis Gudmantas, published by the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore). Actor Andrius Bialobžeskis read the Vilnius founding myth as told in Stryjkowski’s Chronicle, accompanied by Skirmantas Sasnauskas’ composition The Howl of the Wolf from Gediminas' Dream.
