A screening of the documentary The Legend of Konstanty Kalinowski, directed by Rafał Geremek, took place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Before the screening, a discussion was held on the significance of the 1863–1864 uprising, introducing the audience to the extraordinary personality of Konstanty Kalinowski, one of the leaders of the uprising, and the spirit of the movement. The discussion featured habil. Dr. Prof. Tamara Bairašauskaitė (Lithuanian Institute of History), Wojciech Kalwat (Polish History Museum, Warsaw), and Stepan Zacharkiewicz (European Humanities University). It was moderated by Dr. Ramunė Šmigelskytė-Stukienė, Deputy Director General of the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. All attendees of the screening received a Lithuanian-language edition of Prof. Alicja Kulecka’s book, The 1863–1864 January Uprising: A Time of Struggle, Dreams of Freedom, and Unfulfilled Hopes, published by the Polish History Museum.

Last spring, visitors to the Great Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania had the opportunity to explore the interactive exhibition The Insurgents of 1863–1864, which focused on the uprising of the nations of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland against the Russian Empire.
