The NATO Summit in Vilnius on 11-12 July is one of the most important and biggest events in Lithuania's history. It resulted in important decisions on the security of the Alliance and increased commitments.
On the first evening, around six hundred members of NATO governments and other delegation guests arrived at the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania after a busy day of meetings. On the initiative of the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, and the Minister of National Defence, Arvydas Anušauskas, a festive reception was held for the participants of the NATO Summit.
A special programme on the history of Lithuania was prepared for the partners
The First Lady of Lithuania, Diana Nausėdienė, has prepared a special programme for the spouses of the Heads of State and Government visiting Lithuania during the NATO Summit. As the First Lady said, "a separate programme for the NATO Heads of State and Government in Vilnius is an excellent opportunity to introduce Lithuania, its capital city, its history and culture, and to reveal the identity of our nation to the guests and visitors".
