The Old Testament Song of Solomon (lat. Canticum Canticorum Salomonis) is a verse text about love, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, theologians and philosophers of all generations. It discloses God’s conjugal love for Israel described by the prophets, and in the Christian concept, Christ’s unity with the Church.

The concert programme will feature early Baroque sacred motets inspired by the Song of Solomon. These are the sacred compositions of Alessandro Grandi (1590-1630), Giovanni Priuli (1575-1626), Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643), Ignazio Donati (1570-1638) and other composers of The Venetian school.

Entrance is free of charge. It is necessary to register in advance and have a valid National Certificate or an EU digital COVID certificate.

The festival is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
