Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania will host a world-class harpsichordist, organist and conductor from Italy - Claudio Astronio. His recordings of harpsichord and organ music have won numerous international awards. The artist performs in Europe, the United States, South America and Japan, conducts master classes and lessons. Astronio made his film debut in 2017. He appeared with his youth Baroque Orchestra “Theresia” in the film “Zoroastro: Io, Giacomo Casanova”. In 2019, he played the main role in the film “La Corda Spezzata” about the life and work of composer Alessandro Stradella. In addition to early music, the artist is interested in jazz and popular music, and collaborates with various artists.

Claudio Astronio will present a program dedicated to the Bach family. It features works by German Baroque composer and organist Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, composers Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. For many years, W. F. Bach’s work from this time was unknown, but Astronio, who discovered the “Vilnius Manuscript” seven years ago, welcomes the opportunity to present opuses found in this country to the Lithuanian audience. A collection of rarely heard works by W. F. Bach has already been released by the publishing house “Brilliant Classics”. Now it will be possible to get acquainted with this work live.

Entrance is free of charge, but due to the limited number of seats, we kindly ask you to register in advance.
