The concert cycle Christmas at the Palace of the Grand Dukes starts off with a new musical project called Pure Reflections, where audiences have a chance to hear the talents of jazz singer Rūta Švipaitė, countertenor Viktoras Gerasimovas, viola player Robertas Bliškevičius, saxophonist Jan Maksimovič, double bassist Arman Isojan and pianist Vitalijus Neugasimovas. The first part will feature classical music masterpieces known to lovers of music all over the world, while the second part will have plenty of popular Christmas tunes.
The idea behind this program is to present well-known works in a new way, without being limited to any one style. As performers of various music styles are taking part in this program, each with an extensive background in concert performance, they are all sure to leave their own unforgettable touch on the musical picture as a whole. Even though most of the interpretations remind us of jazz, audiences will also hear elements of pop, folk, new age, latin and other musical styles, and lots of improvisation giving this musical project a truly special charm.
