WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART – Concerto for harp, flute and orchestra in C major, KV 299/297c; Divertimento No. 3 in F major, KV 138; Concerto for oboe and orchestra in C major, KV 314; Serenade for orchestra No. 6 in D major, KV 239 (Serenata notturna)
This concert is dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Composer Giedrius Kuprevičius has shared his intriguing and novel thoughts on Mozart in the radio program Audiologues: “I am completely certain of the vitality, relevance, nonpareil emotional richness, the soundness of musical thought as well as flair and modernity of musical expression of the music of this genial composer. (…) Mozart’s music harbours so many secrets regardless of how many times one listens to it – like fairy-tales red in childhood, with each return it uncovers new meanings, fresh turns of thought, puts forward questions that provoke other answers.”
Tonight the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, conductor Robertas Šervenikas and soloists will present two concertos by Mozart – the cheerful Divertimento No 3 and popular Serenata Notturna.
