Silk scarf
Silk scarf
This elegant scarf draws its inspiration from the stylised ornamentation of the mid-16th century (rosettes), which also graces the ceiling of the Renaissance Audience Hall in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Its patterns and colour palette reflect authentic examples of tiles unearthed by archaeologists.
Crafted from silk, a fabric long revered for its luxury, this scarf embodies sophistication. Silk was known in Vilnius as early as the Middle Ages, and by the 16th century, silk textiles and silk-embroidered garments featured prominently in the expense accounts and dowries of Sigismund Augustus, his wives and sisters, as well as in the inventories of nobles and aristocrats. During this period, the finest Western silk was predominantly imported from Florence, Venice and Genoa.
Elegantly presented in a box.
