Vilniaus miesto įkūrimo legenda byloja, kad čia medžioti atvykęs Lietuvos didysis kunigaikštis Gediminas susapnavo pranašišką sapną ir įkūrė miestą. Archeologai atskleidė, kad Gediminas šioje vietoje jau rado gyvenvietę ir kalvos papėdėje stovinčią Ankstyvąją mūrinę pilį.

 

The legend of the founding of Vilnius tells us that Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas, while out hunting in the area, had a prophetic dream based on which he founded the city. Archaeologists have revealed that Gediminas found an already existing settlement on this site, along with the Early Brick Castle at the base of the hill.
